Crucial’s infrastructure allows you to select from two styles of Cloud solutions and a traditional Virtual Server.

The Blaze SSD VPS is a flexible, high-availability Virtual Private Server (VPS) that is prepaid and offers all of the features that one could demand. Including scalable resources, SSD SAN storage, a huge selection of Operating Systems plus much more.

The PAYG Cloud is a self-service environment and is similar to having your own ‘cloud resources’, offering all of the infrastructure and feature benefits of the Blaze SSD VPS plus more. You have the ability to select a pool of resources and activate those resources as you need them, providing a platform that works like your own personal cloud.

The PAYG Cloud gives you the ability to spin up and spin down Virtual Servers using your private resources, on demand. Select from a huge selection of templates and track your service’s usage via in-depth reporting, including IOPS, RAM/Memory usage plus much more.

Whilst the Cloud Server uses a pre-paid model based on the resources you purchase for the selected billing cycle (e.g. monthly, semi-annual), the PAYG Cloud acts as an hourly billing, post paid service.

The more traditional Virtual Server runs on a single physical dedicated server that acts as the hypervisor. Resources are divided amongst the Virtual Servers running on the host server, which includes RAID 10 storage. Although this solution offers excellent value, it misses out on many of the features found on our Cloud infrastructure including higher levels of performance, SSD SAN storage, elastic scalability, high-availability and hardware fail-over.

The traditional Virtual Servers offers great performance with a low cost of entry, these Virtual Servers are great for web or file servers or for those who want a value driven and reliable VPS. Additionally it is backed by the same high-performance Equinix-housed network that powers our Cloud infrastructure.
