- Are your Virtual Servers managed?
- Our cloud Virtual Servers are Self-Managed; this means that you are responsible for maintaining and updating the VPS while we are responsible for ensuring that the network and the hardware node is running. You are NOT entitled to support other than VPS reboots if you are on a self-managed VPS. We do offer a Management & Support add on for our Virtual Servers, for more information please click here
- What Hardware Do you Use in your Nodes?
- We use world class and industry leading Hewlett Packard SAN and Blade server hardware. For more information on our infrastructure please click here
- Where are your servers located?
- Our servers are located in the Equinix Data Centre in Mascot, Sydney. For more information on Equinix click here
- I need a Firewall, can you provide one?
- Yes we can, we offer software based CSF firewall or a hardware based Juniper firewall solution, for more information on these products please contact sales
- Do you offer load balancing?
- Yes we do, we offer a Cisco based hardware load balancing solution, for more information and pricing please click here
- Can you provide a private network connection between VPS?
- Yes, we can provide an 1GBit/s Private Network between VPS' upon request. Traffic over the private network is NOT counted towards your bandwidth limits.
- Is there a way I can monitor my bandwidth usage?
- Yes we provide a bandwidth counting solution where you can view your monthly traffic (In and Out).
- Which Operating Systems do you offer?
- Currently we offer the following 64 Bit Distributions:
- Centos 5
- Ubuntu 9
- Ubuntu 10 LTS
- Debian 5.0 (Lenny)
- How many IP addresses are included?
- 1 IP is included free of charge. Additional IP's are $5/month.
- Do you offer backup software?
- Yes and we offer one of the best solutions on the market today, the R1Soft Backup Solution. For more information and pricing please click here
- Is there a contract?
- Of course not! All VPS plans are on a month to month agreement, please however keep in mind that we require 14 days' notice before your next billing cycle should you choose to cancel your VPS
- Do you offer an SLA?
- Yes we offer a 99.9% uptime guarantee on our Network.
- How does the CPU scheduling work?
- Each VPS is assigned a number of virtual CPU’s (vCPU) and each CPU shares the cores based on the blade. Our current blades operate the latest Dual Intel Xeon E5650 processors for a total of 12 x Cores, 24 x Hyperthreads, 24MB Cache and a total speed of 31.92Ghz.
- I plan to grow, can I upgrade?
- Of course you can, our solution is designed from the ground up with flexibility in mind.
- I've done something and broke my VPS?
- No worries you can reboot it, restore from a backup if you have the R1Soft add on or even start over by reformatting it.
- Do you provide discounts for pre-paying for longer periods than 1 month?
- Yes, we provide the following discounts for pre-payment (base VPS package only):
- Monthly: 0%
- Semi-Annually: 5%
- Annually: 10%
- Do you offer a money back guarantee or trial period?
- No we don't. Our virtual servers don't however come with any contracts.
- How is bandwidth usage calculated?
- We calculate bandwidth on and in + out basis. So if you use 5GB in, and 10GB out your total bandwidth usage is 15GB.
- What if I go over my bandwidth amount?
- If you exceed your limit for the month overages are billed at $0.90/GB. If you find that you are regularly exceeding your limit talk to us about your options. We're here to help!
- Can I reboot my machine?
- Yes. All VPS's can perform both soft and hard reboots.
- How can I access the VPS if the network is down?
- You can still access the VPS via Crucial Control panel; it's just like being in front of the server.
- What about support? Our VPS plans are self-managed as standard; this means that you are responsible for security, maintaining the VPS, installing software and all administration. If you don't have extensive experience with server administration or simply don't have time for it we offer a Full Server Management add on for $50/month.
- Can I reinstall a different distribution or start over?
- Yes - you can perform a fresh reinstall, this can be done via the Crucial Control control panel
- Do you offer a hosting control panel so I can manage my domains?
- Yes - If you require a hosting control panel we can provide the following:
- cPanel/WHM: $15/month
- cPanel/WHM with Fantastico: $19/month
- cPanel/WHM + RVSkin: $17.50/month
- cPanel/WHM + Fantastico + RVSkin: $21/month
- What payment methods area available?
- We accept the following:
- Credit Card
- PayPal
- Direct Deposit (1 - 3 day clearance time)
- Cheque ($25 processing fee)
- What if I want to cancel?
- It would be sad to see you go but if you do wish to cancel simply submit the request via the Manage Account area. Do note that all requests must be submitted prior to the renewal date; any cancellation requests submitted on or after the renewal date must be paid in full.
- How do I sign up?
- Easy, just click the packages link, and then click sign up link to the VPS you would like and follow the sign up process.
- How long does it take to setup my VPS?
- Usually we'll have the VPS running within 24 hours if the order is placed during business hours, however if you have an urgent requirement you can always contact us and we'll try and get it setup quicker for you.
- Do these plans include swap space?
- Swap space is not included with the Cloud Linux VPS.
